Learn How to Get, Upload, and Install Joomla Templates in Just 3 Easy Steps with This Step-by-by Guide

There is a seemingly unlimited supply of high-quality Joomla templates (free, commercial, and even custom-made) that you can use and modify to suit your needs, making designing and developing websites using the Joomla CMS worthwhile. This way, you may get your dream website’s unique, modern, and dynamic feel without breaking the bank. In this piece, I’ll walk you through the three-step method I use to acquire and set up Joomla themes on my websites. PDI Formula is what I refer to it as. There’s no need to panic; this has nothing to do with advanced computer programming or philosophical jargon. If you’re prepared, here’s what to do:

First, you’ll need to go out and acquire the most excellent Joomla templates available for your website. You can choose from three distinct categories of Joomla themes, each distinguished by their associated acquisition price and expected level of quality. (The adage, “You get what you pay for,” is also appropriate here. List of examples following: a. Free Joomla Templates: These are the templates that are available for use by anyone. They usually have some catch. They are either ad-based or call for active links to the website of the template’s creator. Commercial Joomla templates are available for purchase and do not come with any restrictions accompanying the distribution of free Joomla templates. Commercial Joomla templates are available singly, in bundles, or via membership in a Joomla template club. For obvious reasons, commercial ones look and feel much more professional than their free counterparts do, and they also allow for more extensive template customization. c. Custom-designed Joomla templates: This option involves communicating with a template designer to discuss your specific needs and then having that person create a unique Joomla template for you. Since these are built to your specifications and designed to boost your pride and vanity, they typically cost more than ready-made commercial templates.

Step 2 of installing a Joomla template is to save it to your computer. Therefore, this is the second action. This must be done before you upload and install the template on your Joomla website, regardless of whether you are working with a free, premium, or custom-made template.

After downloading the template, the third step is to install it on your website. Your Joomla hosting account’s Control Panel (from which you typically handle files, emails, website metrics, etc.) is where you may do this manually. (I think you understand.) Then, via your website’s file management interface, go to the directory where Joomla was installed, open the folder where Joomla templates are kept, and upload the new Joomla template there.

The quickest, most convenient, and least complicated method of installing your new template is to access the /administrator directory of your Joomla website (the “backend” from where you control the site) and upload it from there. Using the ‘Extensions’ menu, you may pick the template from your computer and click the ‘Upload and Install’ button. It should be successfully uploaded and installed within a minute of clicking the link. And with that, we’re done! You have just updated your website with a brand new Joomla template. The next logical step is changing the template’s look to match your website’s intended theme.
